Hello! How do you do? Thanks for reading Drew The View! I checked my Facebook newsfeed the other day, and if I hadn't read a news story elsewhere, I wouldn't have know Nelson Mandela passed away. Yesterday, when people learned about A&E's suspension of Phil Robertson, I couldn't have been better informed.
I've never watched the show Duck Dynasty. I've heard it's super funny and from the commercials I've seen, the cast members seem to love each other and their families. The fact that Mr. Robertson was able to give his honest opinions to a magazine doesn't bother me; I love it. What troubles me is what could be a hurtful reaction due to his comments from a large group of people based of their Christian beliefs.
I've read The Bible many times. One of my favorite stories in The Bible, involves Jesus going to dinner at a homeboys house, a crazy prostitute busts in and starts to wash and kiss Jesus' feet.....

SIMON: "Yo man..if you were really a prophet.... You would know this chick is a ho. This girl that's washing your feet Jesus... She's a hooker!"
JESUS: "Hey Simon let me holler at you for a second playa."
SIMON: "What's up Jesus?"
JESUS: "If you and Peter needed some money. I would give ya'll some. You know that right?
SIMON: "Yeah for sure Jesus."
JESUS: "Ok. Lets say I loaned you 50 bucks, and I loaned Peter 500."
SIMON: "Why would you loan Peter more than me Jesus?"
JESUS: "That's not important Simon. Just follow me ok?"
SIMON: "Ok Jesus."
JESUS: "So I figure out...That neither one of you guys have the money to pay me back.
SIMON: "I would pay you back Jesus."
JESUS: "I know Simon. I know. But lets say you couldn't. Then...I decided I should forgive both of your debts....Which one would be more grateful?"
SIMON: "Peter would. Because you loaned him 500 bucks and me only 50."
JESUS: "That is correct Simon. This girls sins, which are many, are forgiven; she showed me much love. But to whom little is forgivin...."
SIMON: "Jesus."
JESUS: "Yes. Simon."
SIMON: "Can I borrow 50 bucks?"
If you decide to boycott A&E because you believe homosexuality is immoral that's your call; but you might want to put down that BLT and cancel your NFL network too. Thanks For Reading! I Love You! -Drew The View
